BRIEF SYNOPSIS

Gloria Dubonnet runs THE SEA VIEW BOARDING HOUSE on the south coast of England but she is not all she appears to be. Who are her mysterious guests and what part in the chaos that ensues does her abused daughter play? How does gangster Jimmy Raynott fit into her life? A Bucket Full of Colours

Monday morning and it is sunny but cool. Delany Quick exuberantly placed the empty cappuccino cup on the counter of the walk-in coffee shop, exaggeratedly but unnecessarily pushed his long black hair away from his face and looked the server firmly in the eye. His dark almost black eyes penetrated but at the same time displayed a humorous twinkle that softened what might have been a most disconcerting stare.    In reply to her question, he said firmly with a sudden, jaunty smile, “ W hat I do madam is sell magic. TAKING THE PLUNGE

My dad was a fella with an Einstein brain from a not so well-off family. The way his brain worked was a wonder. It took him a while to gather his thoughts which kind of suggested he was indecisive which was not the case. When it came to it, he made a choice and stuck right on with it. At fourteen he left school and worked as an apprentice bookbinder of all things. At fifteen he had enough to pay for night school. Electronics was the thing he thought. At sixteen his brother joined him. At eighteen they both qualified. At nineteen in 1940 he was in the RAF mending radios on bombers. His brother mended radios in tanks in the desert and Italy.
